How The World Works

 Types Of Avalanches

There are many types of avalanches, here are three of them:
A slab avalanche which is one of most dangerous because it's one of the biggest. A loose snow avalanche witch can't kill people or burry people because its one of the smallest. And Finally, a wet snow avalanche. A wet snow avalanche only comes in spring. It uncovers a mountain's rocky suface when the snow slides down the mountain.

◊ How Are Avalanches Formed ◊

Avalanches are formed in many different ways. Avalanches are formed when lots of wind comes and pushes all the snow off the edge of the mountain. It also happens when there is a very weak layer of snow on the mountain ready to fall off,if you see loose snow above you, move it can be very painful.

◊ Effects On People And Land

Avalanches can make a huge amount of damage to land. If your playing in the snow, skiing or snowboarding an avalanche could run into you and you could get killed or someone you love. There is not just snow coming down the mountain-side, there are rocks, trees, houses and different kinds of objects that get in the way of an avalanche coming down the mountain. If you get caught in an avalanche, you might just have a chance to survive. If you get found or you find your way out of the snow, you will be very lucky but most likely you will die. If an avalanche gets really big it might push houses, trees, power lines and so, on over. Avalanches can also block the doors and windows or even cover the whole house so no one can get out.
